Jean-Paul Ney: An other Journalist in Jail
Independent investigation journalist and war reporter, Jean-Paul Ney is in jail since 9 months at the unfortunately well known MACA (Maison d'arrêt et de correction d'Abidjan) detention center in Ivory Coast. Jean-Paul Ney has been charged for “attempt to national security”. In fact Jean-Paul Ney was just doing is job, investigation reporter; job is doing since over 10 years…
The silence of his family and friends has been a question and even seen has a proof of his guiltiness. The truth is somewhere else: On the request of the “Quai D’Orsay” (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs), they have been asked to stay quiet in order to not jeopardize is released.
Today after 9 months in jail, the health of Jean-Paul Ney is in danger. He has been hospitalized twice for Malaria and typhoid fever, and put back in jail each time. He also tried to attempt to his life. His health is our main concern, we fear for is life.
As today, no date for a trial has been fixed.

The French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, said a few days ago, that, any French anywhere in the world in difficulty will get the full support of France.
